Locally-owned

bank opens

By BENNIE SCARTON JR.

Manassas Journal Messenger

Cardinal Bank, the only locally managed, full-service community bank

in Manassas-Prince William County, opened its doors last week.

The bank, located at 9626 Center Street in Manassas, offers a broad range

of modern banking services to local residents, professionals and small

to medium sized businesses.

In addition, it is distinguished from the larger, impersonal and out-of-state

banks dominating northern Virginia because of its independent and locally-based

executive management team.

The bank is located in a new 6,200-square foot building and will have

14 employees when fully staffed.

Wayne Broadwater is chairman of the board and other members include Jana

Yeates, Mike Garcia, State Del. Jack Rollison, R-Woodbridge, John Elkin,

Mike Lubeley, Emad Saadeh, Harvey Hutzinger and bank president Christopher

W. Bergstrom.

The bank is a subsidiary of Cardinal Financial Corporation with headquarters

in Fairfax.

Commenting on the bank’s opening, Corporation President L. Burwell Gunn

said: ”I am very excited abut the Cardinal Bank’s opening and confident

that the bank will offer customers a superior and unique banking experience.

”This bank’s opening is a significant step forward for our corporation

and an integral part of our plans to establish four strategically located

and independently managed banks in northern Virginia. Bergstrom and the

talented team he has assembled, have impressive credentials within the banking

and financial sectors and, just as importantly, very strong community ties.”

Bergstrom added: A compelling feature of this bank’s operating strategy

is that the management and the board of directors have lived and worked

in Manassas and the county collectively for over 300 years. A management

team that is as familiar with the community’s needs as we are is going to

provide higher quality, personalized service.

”In addition, as a full-service community bank, we offer our customers

an extensive range of contemporary banking products and services designed

to fit their specific needs. We are committed to providing this community

a complete and gratifying banking experience.”

Consumer banking services offered by the bank include FDIC insured accounts,

customized loans, a variety of deposit programs, check imaging, investment

services, credit and debit cards, personalized loan plans and optional automated

telephone attendant.

The bank will hold its grand opening on Sept. 9.
