Alberta Lee Barbour, 75, of Culpeper, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at Culpeper Memorial Hospital in Culpeper.
She was born Aug. 21, 1926, and worked as a newspaper carrier.
She is survived by her husband, Felix Barbour of Culpeper; a daughter, Cassie Grayson of Manassas; two sons, George Grayson Jr. of Culpeper and Albert Grayson of Front Royal; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church, 705 Viewtown Road, Amissville, where services will be held at noon, the Rev. Forrest Freeman officiating. Interment will follow at the Grigsby Family Cemetery in Amissville.
Arrangements are by Joynes Funeral Home, Warrenton.
Nellie Irene Musselman Fritter, 91, of Stafford, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg.
She was born in Stafford County on April 19, 1910. She was a homemaker and a member of Register Chapel United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Marvin Fritter.
She is survived by her son, John I. Fritter of Stafford; her daughter, Mary Irene McConchie of Stafford; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will received friends Tuesday at Covenant Funeral Service of Fredericksburg, where services will be held at 1 p.m. today, the Rev. James N. Wishmyer officiating. Burial will follow at Ramoth Baptist Church Cemetery.
Willie I. Shaw died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, in Fredericksburg.
Survivors include four children, Jackie Webster, Willard Shelton, Willie Shaw Jr.; three sisters, Theresa Yeannakis, Joann Washington, Shirley Ann Shaw and Gloria Tucker; a brother, James Shaw Jr.; three grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Greene Funeral Home, 814 Franklin St., Alexandria, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Interment will be held at Coleman Cemetery.
Richard Charles Sherman, 61, of Strasburg, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at Warren Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 8, 1940, in Schenectady, N.Y. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Vietnam. He was employed with Southland Corp., which operates the 7-Eleven store on John Marshall Highway.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Sherman.
Survivors include his four children, Cynthia L. Bowen of Strasburg, William Henry Sherman of Front Royal, Paul Brian Sherman of Manassas and Steve Allen Sherman of Woodstock; three brothers; three sisters; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Maddox Funeral Home, the Rev. Cynthia L. Bowen officiating.
