Manassas Park clerk assaulted, robbed

A 44-year-old clerk was assaulted and robbed at the 8521 Centreville Road 7-Eleven in Manassas Park on Friday afternoon, Sgt. Karen Barton, Manassas Park police spokeswoman, said Tuesday.

Police describe the robber as a white man, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He is in his 20s and was wearing a black insulated winter coat, blue jeans and a black stocking hat, city police said.

The man was trying to steal three bottles of Mike’s Hard Lemonade alcoholic beverage at approximately 3:40 p.m., police said.

When the clerk confronted him, he pushed her and knocked a metal framed door from its hinges as he fled.

The damage to the door frame is estimated at $150.

Jewelry, DVD, PlayStation stolen in Manassas theft

A home in the 8600 block of Terrace View Court in Manassas was burglarized between Friday and Sunday, Sgt. Marc Woolverton, City police spokesman said on Tuesday.

Burglars took three gold bracelets, a gold heart, gold and diamond earrings, a matching pendant, a Zenith DVD player, a Sony PlayStation 2 and a Redskins duffel bag. The missing items were valued at approximately $2,760.

Burglars entered by breaking a front-door deadbolt lock.

Three arrested for tossing 50 tires along roadside

Three people were charged with littering for tossing more than 50 tires from their van as they drove along Cherry Hill Road in south Woodbridge on Sunday, Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said Tuesday.

A witness driving behind the accused litterer’s 1987 white Ford Econoline van called police after seeing tires being thrown from the side of the van at approximately 8:45 a.m.

Police who were in the area stopped the van. The three people were paid to dispose of the tires, Mangan said. They went back and picked up all 50 tires and were then escorted by police to the landfill to “properly dispose” of them, Mangan said.

Nora Leann Bennett, 42, of no fixed address; Robert Thomas Gould, 29, of no fixed address; and Mark Ernest Laupieri, 36, of 18252 Old Triangle Road, number 103 were all charged.

Appliances stolen from houses under construction

A stove and microwave oven were stolen from a home under construction in the 2700 block of Myrtlewood Drive near Dumfries between Friday at 4 p.m., and Saturday at noon, Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said Tuesday.

The home is being built by the Washington Homes company.

In a separate incident, a microwave, stove, refrigerator, washer and dryer, valued at roughly $3,000 were stolen from a D.R. Horton Inc. home which is under construction in the 2900 block of Stockholm Way in Woodbridge between 6 p.m. Friday and 9:30 a.m. Monday, Mangan said.

Teens arrested after firing paint balls in Dale City

Two teenagers were charged with shooting at an occupied dwelling and trespassing after they repeatedly pelted a 51-year-old man’s home with paint balls Monday at 3 p.m. in the 4600 block of Kentwood Drive in Dale City, Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said Tuesday.

The man has “no trespassing” notices posted on his property.

John Lee Billings, 18, of 4520 Kingsley Road in Dale City was released on a signature, Mangan said. A 17-year-old also was arrested.

Virginia law prohibits police from releasing the names of juveniles charged with crimes.

Man grabs teen’s phone, gets away in dark car

A 15-year-old boy was robbed of his cellular telephone in the Potomac Mills mall in Woodbridge on Saturday at 7 p.m., immediately after hanging up with his mother, Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said on Tuesday.

Once he finished his conversation, he clipped the phone to his belt. A man described as a black, about 6 feet tall with a medium build and wearing jeans and a black leather jacket ran by and grabbed it.

The teen chased the robber into the parking lot, where he entered a dark, four-door car and drove off, Mangan said.

CD, stereo valued at $2,300 stolen from car

CDs and a DVD/CD car stereo were stolen from a 2002 Cadillac parked in the 6200 block of Oakland Drive in Dale City between 10 a.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Sunday, Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said Tuesday.

A passenger-side window was broken out. The missing items are valued at $2,300.

Tools taken from van in Woodbridge

A witness saw three white men take nail guns and a power saw from a 1986 Ford van at the intersection of Delaware and Arnica drives in Woodbridge Monday at 1:30 a.m., Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said on Tuesday.

Three windows were broken out.

Jewelry, guns, cash taken from Wexford Loop home

A wedding band, diamond ring, four handguns and cash — all totaling $3,369 — were stolen from a home in the 17200 block of Wexford Loop near Montclair, Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said on Tuesday.

Four cars vandalized, stereos taken in Dale City

Windows were smashed and stereo equipment valued at more than $200 per car was stolen from a 1994 BMW, an Acura, a Ford Escort and a Honda Accord at the intersection of Lestrick Lane and Lindendale Road in Dale City between 11 p.m. Sunday and 10:30 a.m. Monday, Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said Tuesday.

Fuji bike taken from shed on Bull Run Drive

A blue and silver Fuji bike was stolen from a shed at a home in the 7600 block of Bull Run Drive in the Manassas area on Saturday between 10:30 a.m., and 5:40 p.m., Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said on Tuesday.

The bike is valued at $350.

Tires, rims stolen from cars parked in Dale City

Four tires and their rims, valued at $2,308, were stolen from a 2002 Chevrolet in the 13000 block of Terminal Way and from a 2000 Honda in the 13300 block of Packard Drive, both in Dale City, Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said Tuesday.

The Honda tires and rims are valued at $1,200.

The Chevrolet’s tires were stolen between 2 and 6 a.m. Sunday. The Honda’s were removed between 3 and 10:30 a.m. Saturday, police reported.

Piggy bank, coins stolen from Asdee Lane home

A red plaster piggy bank and a freezer bag with coins valued at $400 were stolen from a home in the 5000 block of Asdee Lane in Lake Ridge on Monday between 5:15 a.m., and 5 p.m., Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said on Tuesday.

Burglars entered by breaking out a window pane in the front door.

Glass doors smashed in Woodbridge home

Burglars smashed the rear sliding glass doors on two homes in the 15300 block of Gunsmith Terrace in Woodbridge between Friday at 7:30 a.m., and Monday at 4 p.m., Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said on Tuesday.

Entry was not gained in either instance.

Burglars partially pried open business doors

The door to the office of Real Estate Associates at 3062 PS Business Center Drive in Woodbridge was partially pried open between Thursday at 5 p.m., and Sunday at 4 p.m., Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said on Tuesday.

The burglars were not able to enter, he said.

21 windows broken out at Rippon Middle School

Twenty-one windows were broken out of Rippon Middle School on Blackburn Road in Woodbridge between 9 p.m. Saturday and 12:01 a.m. Sunday, Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said on Tuesday.

The damage is estimated at $2,500.

Another three windows were broken out around 3:50 a.m. Sunday, Mangan said. They are valued at $675.
