Knifing suspect still loose

Police are searching for a Dale City man they say assaulted two Woodbridge brothers at about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 15300 block of Postillion Terrace near Rippon Middle School, said Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman.

The brothers, a 20- and 21-year-old, were in an argument at their residence when a man approached them and struck the older brother on the head several times with a silver object, Mangan said.

The brothers told police they thought the object was a wrench.

When the younger brother came to help the older, the assailant pulled a knife and placed it against the 21-year-old’s throat, then cut him slightly on the face, Mangan said.

The man with the knife ran to a gold 2001 Ford Escape and the 21-year-old brother chased him.

As the attacker tried to drive away, the victims told police, he ran over the 21-year-old once and then backed over him again.

Before he left the scene, the assailant struck the 20-year-old brother with the front of the Ford and pinned him against a parked car, Mangan said.

Both brothers were treated and released from Potomac Hospital in Woodbridge.

Police later found the Ford Escape in the 14600 block of Danville Road in Dale City. Mangan said, and are looking for Kerry Cherone Brown.

Brown is black, 23 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds, Mangan said.

His last known address was in the 14600 block of Danville Road, but he is known to hang around in the Rippon Landing area, Mangan said.

Police ask that anyone with information call (703) 670-3700. Callers do not have to leave their names or testify in court and may receive up to $1,000 reward for information that results in arrest.
