Man tries to break into Woodbridge home

A woman saw a man leaning down and looking through the side basement window of her home as he was trying to slip his hand through at her 2000 block of Cumberland Drive home in Woodbridge Thursday at 12:13 p.m., Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said on Friday.

When the man saw the woman, he ran away. The attempted burglar is described as black with a medium build. He is between 18 and 30.

Car towed to wrong address, broken into

A car was towed to the wrong address after an accident in Woodbridge and was subsequently broken into, Manassas Park police said Friday.

The 1999 Cadillac Escalade was towed to First Class Auto Detail at 8192 Euclid Court. It was broken into between Wednesday at 10 p.m., and Thursday at 9:50 a.m.

The drivers-side window was broken. A DVD player, power acoustic television, cordless infrared headphones, a receiver, six disc CD changer, 11 CDs, two DVDs and a checkbook valued at a total of $1,116 were stolen.

Manassas man charged with felony DWI

A 47-year-old city man was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated early Friday morning, after being stopped by Manassas police in the 8700 block of Sudley Road, Sgt. Bill Goodman, City police spokesman said on Friday.

Michael B. Heath, of 9563 Penhook Court was charged with DWI for the fourth time in 10 years, police said.

Heath was also charged with felony habitual offender, Goodman said. He bond has been set at $7,500. He is due in court on Apr. 24.

Incidents reported Friday by Prince William police:

— Candles, a Cannon camera, a piggy bank, a quarter collection, and jewelry valued at a total of $5,000 were stolen from a home in the 12200 block of Purcell Road in Lake Jackson Thursday between 8:30 a.m. and 2:25 p.m.

— A diamond ring valued at $7,000 was stolen from a home in the 4600 block of Evansdale Road in Dale City between Wednesday at 7:45 p.m., and Thursday at 8:40 a.m.

— A passenger side window was broken out of a 1998 Honda parked on Glendale Road between Tuesday at 10 p.m., and Wednesday at 7 a.m.

An amplifier and speaker box valued at $1,800 were stolen.

— A CD player and 45 CDs were stolen from a 2000 Honda parked on Hummel Way in Lake Ridge between Tuesday at 11:50 p.m., and Wednesday.

— A camouflage coat, stereo, amplifier, and toolbox valued at a total of $1,290 were stolen from a home on Longview Drive in Woodbridge between Monday at 9:45 p.m., and Tuesday at 5 a.m.

— A CB radio valued at $300 was stolen from a car parked in the 2600 block of Prince William Parkway between Feb. 28 at 12 p.m., and Thursday at noon.

Incidents reported Friday by Manassas Park police:

— Gang related graffiti was discovered at 140 Kent Drive in Manassas Park, police Thursday at 5:08 p.m., police said Friday.

Damage is estimated at $50.
