Manassas Journal Messenger | Manassas video store robbed
She asked all kinds of questions, pulling the store’s employee to a corner of the business and holding her attention long enough for her accomplice to work.
Out of the employee’s sight, another woman snuck behind a counter top at Video Mexico on Tuesday afternoon and into a back office where she stole “a significant amount of money,” Manassas City police said.
In a few seconds she was back in the main part of the store with the money hidden.
“We have several businesses that transfer money and we had a large amount in the store that day to deposit [at the bank],” said Video Mexico owner Felix Vargas. “After the robbers left the store, she noticed something wasn’t right and the money was gone.”
The worker hit an alarm, which signaled police, but the two women, along with two other men who helped in the crime were gone.
Police are looking for two Hispanic women and two Hispanic men, all either in their 30s or 40s, for the crime.
“They must have been in there before, because they knew how we worked,” Vargas said.
Police said the first female is in her late 30s and fair-skinned. She is 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 190 pounds with long dark hair. The second female is described as in her late 20s or early 30s. She is believed to be 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds with long brown or blonde hair.
The first male robber is described as in his late 30s and 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds. He has dark, receding hair. Police describe the second male robber as in his late 30s and approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall. He has a thin build and dark hair.
