Manassas Journal Messenger | Nokesville man dies in crash
A 62-year-old Nokesville man died after his car rear-ended another vehicle at 5:40 a.m. Saturday on Dumfries Road, said 1st Sgt. Kim Chinn, Prince William police.
Three cars were involved in the accident that killed Gerald Lee Page, a security officer for Prince William County schools, Chinn said.
The accident occurred in the southbound lane, where Dumfries Road intersects with Hamowell Street near Independent Hill
Page ran into the back of a car that was slowing for a third car, which was stopped to make a left turn onto Hamowell Street, Chinn said.
Page collided with the slowing car, which hit the car that was stopped. The impact forced the middle car to the side of the road where it ran into a tree and was hit again by Page’s car, Chinn said.
Page, who was not wearing a seat belt, died later at Prince William Hospital, Chinn said.
Five others, all wearing seat belts, were treated for minor injuries at area hospitals, Chinn said.
Emila Ardon, 52, of Yorkshire Lane, and Ricardo Cruz, 34, and Claudia Cruz, 28, of Sharpsburg Court, were in the middle car, Chinn said.
Luis Escobar, 49, of Lake Lane in Fairfax County, and Maria Arbarca, 44, of Yorkshire Lane in Manassas, were in the car that was stopped for a left turn, Chinn said.
