Stolen car recovered in Woodbridge

Police recovered a stolen 1993 Toyota station wagon shortly after it was stolen Tuesday night from the 13300 block of Occoquan Road while, said 1st Sgt. Kim Chinn, Prince William police.

The car, which the owner left running while he unloaded his groceries and took them inside, was stolen at about 10:50 p.m., Chinn said.

The man called emergency dispatchers who immediately broadcast a description of the car, Chinn said.

A patrolling officer saw the car at Daniel Stuart Square and followed, but lost the quarry after a brief pursuit.

The officer found the car later, unoccupied, as it rolled down Longview Drive and ran into a parked car, Chinn said.

Police said the man driving the car was a 5-foot-3 inch, 200 pound, white man with short, bushy black hair.

Wall safe broken into at Mobil Station

A wall safe containing several thousand dollars was stolen from the Mobil Station at 9640 Liberia Ave. in Manassas between 1 and 5 a.m. Saturday, said Sgt. Bill Goodman, Manassas police.

A station employee told police that the front door of the gas station was pried open. A second safe was damaged, but the cash registers and drawers, which contained small amounts of money, were undisturbed, Goodman said.

Officers investigated and found the stolen safe nearby. It was broken open and the money was gone. Damage to the safes was estimated at $1,700, Goodman said.

Manassas residents report tire slashing

Two Manassas residents told police that tires on their cars were punctured while the cars were parked in front of their home Monday night and Tuesday, said Sgt. Bill Goodman, Manassas police.

The owner of a 2003 Volkswagen Golf, told police a Michelin sport tire worth $300 was punctured between 9 :20 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Tuesday while the car was parked in the 8800 block of Jackson Avenue, Goodman said.

A second victim told police his 2002 Toyota Avalon was parked in his carport in the 8800 block of Fort Lyon Drive,between 2 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. Tuesday when its tires were slashed, Goodman said.

The victim told police the Avalon’s tire was worth $180.

Convertible top slashed in Manassas

A tan convertible top of a 2001 Toyota Solara was slashed in three place while the car was parked in the 10300 block of Abbott Road between 10:50 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., said Sgt. Bill Goodman, Manassas police.

The victim told police the damage to her convertible was $1,500.

Woman, infant threatened by man with gun

A 26-year-old woman told police that a man threatened her with a hand gun at a red light at the intersection of Wellington Road and the Prince William Parkway Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., said 1st Sgt. Kim Chinn, Prince William police.

The woman, who had her infant son in the car with her, told police that 25- to 30-year-old black man, with shoulder-length dreadlocks, pulled up beside her, pointed a black handgun at her and told the woman he should shoot her, Chinn said.

The victim told police the man was driving an older, burgundy Isuzu Trooper with silver trim along the bottom, Chinn said.

Money, purse stolen from safe in home

A purse and money were stolen from a safe in an apartment in the 3900 block of the Prince William Parkway, between 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, said 1st Sgt. Kim Chinn, Prince William police.

There were no signs of forced entry to the apartment or the safe, Chinn said.

Door to Lake Ridge home pried open

The front door of a home in the 12100 block of Cardamom Drive in Lake Ridge was pried open between 6:30 and 7 a.m. Tuesday. Nothing was stolen, said 1st Sgt. Kim Chinn, Prince William police.

Stolen vehicle found submerged

The U.S. Park Police found a car which was stolen from Dale City partially submerged on an embankment near the George Washington Parkway in Riverside Park at 2:30 a.m. Monday, said 1st Sgt. Kim Chinn, Prince William police.

The owner told police she was away from her home in the 12800 block of Island House Loop in Dale City between Saturday and Monday when her red 2001 Hyundai Elantra was stolen.

The victim told police she left her car unlocked with the keys inside. The keys were in the car when the Park Police found it, Chinn said.
