ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The brother of one of four M-S 13 gang members accused of murdering a pregnant teenager testified against his brother today in Alexandria federal court.

Joaquin Grande-Chavez (hwah-KEEN GRAHN’-day chah-VEZZ’) partially implicated his brother Oscar Grande in the death of 17-year-old Brenda Paz (PAHZ), a former gang member and federal witness in another M-S 13 case.

Joaquin Grande wouldn’t look at his brother while on the witness stand today. He testified Oscar Grande indicated to him that Paz had been killed.

All four gang members could face the death penalty if convicted of the murder of Paz, whose body was found two years ago along the banks of the Shenandoah River.
