Manassas Journal Messenger | Manassas councilman will vye for Mayor

Manassas councilman Hal Parrish-R Manassas announced Monday that he will be running for mayor of Manassas.

Parrish is currently serving a four-year term as vice-mayor under mayor Douglas Waldron, who chose not to file for re-election in 2008. Parrish’s term on council is also up next spring, along with those of Republican Councilmen Jonathan Way and Steven Smith.

Parrish is the son of former mayor and long-time Virginia House of Delegates member Harry J. Parrish, who died in March of 2006 at age 84.
