Area colleges offer ways to further your education but stay in the Prince William – Manassas area.

George Mason University

George Mason University, a university established 30 years ago, has made technology a primary focus and offers 124 degree programs to approximately 26,796 students as of fall 2003. The four-year school in Fairfax, with branches in Prince William County and Arlington, offers numerous undergraduate programs and confers graduate degrees in fields such as law, education, business and nursing. Northern Virginia Community College

Northern Virginia Community College is the largest institution of higher education in Virginia, with five campuses, two of them in Prince William County are at Manassas and Woodbridge. It is the second largest multi-campus community college in the country and offers more than 150 programs of study. More than 64,000 students took courses at the five campuses last year and through the Extended Learning Institute, which offers Web-based classes and home-study options.

Apart from taking college transfer classes in liberal arts, business and computer science, students can take specialized vocational and technical courses such as automotive technology and biotechnology at Manassas; or air conditioning and refrigeration courses and massage therapy courses taught at Woodbridge.

Strayer University

With more than 100 years of experience educating working adults, Strayer University provides undergraduate and graduate degree programs on area campuses in Woodbridge and Manassas and other Northern Virginia locations.

Strayer University offers certificates, diploma programs, and associate’s, bachelor’s and master’s degrees in information technology and business.
