Manassas Journal Messenger | Suspects charged in separate drug busts

Police made three unrelated drug arrests and a DUI arrest in the area recently, said 1st Sgt. Kim Chinn Prince William police spokeswoman.

Police stopped a car in the 1300 block of Old Bridge Road in Lake Ridge at 3:48 a.m. Monday and arrested the driver and the passenger, police said.

During the traffic stop police discovered that Gabriel Oropeza Carrillo, of 2220 Montgomery Ave. in Woodbridge, was driving outside of the restrictions of the Alcohol Safety Action Program.

Police said Carrillo, 25, was driving under the influence, but refused to take a breath test.

Carrillo was held without bond. Police did not give a court date.

Police say they searched the passenger, Alberto Castro-Azalo, 31, and found cocaine.

Police charged Azalo, also of 2220 Montgomery Ave., with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and public intoxication.

Azalo was held without bond, police said.

Police arrested a 36-year-old Chantilly man for public intoxication at 12:10 a.m. Saturday outside of Confettis Restaurant in the Manassas area.

Police said they searched Elano Chavez Olvera, of 14505 Transwork Ave., during the arrest and found cocaine.

Police charged Olvera with possession of cocaine.

He was held on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court July 19, police said.

Police got a call to a suspicious vehicle parked at the intersection of Harness Shop and Filly courts in the Bristow area at 11:47 p.m. Friday and smelled marijuana when they got there.

Police searched the car and said they found marijuana and a pipe.

Jonathan Paul Smith, 18, of 11310 Trenton Court, in the Bristow area was charged with possession of marijuana and is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 26, police said.
