Manassas Journal Messenger | 8 men attack 2 on house steps

Eight men attacked a 38-year-old man and a 21-year-old man as they sat outside their home Saturday night in the Sudley area, Prince William County police said.

The victims were sitting on the steps of their home in the 7600 block of Cass Place in the Coverstone subdivision around 11:55 p.m. when a group of eight men asked them for money, said Sgt. Dennis Mangan, police spokesman.

When the victims said they did not have any money, the eight men attacked them. They stole two cell phones and a set of keys from the victims, neither of whom required treatment, police said.

Police said the attackers were black and Hispanic, but did not get further descriptions.

Prince William County police reported the following incidents:

• Two step ladders, a level and a power washer valued at $660 were stolen from the Hilton Group Inc. at 5497 Mapledale Plaza in Dale City between 6:30 p.m. April 6 and 7:30 a.m. Thursday.

• Cash totalling $300 was stolen from a home in the 4300 block of Welsh Lane in Dale City between 4 and 7 a.m. Thursday.

• A stereo and speakers valued at $900 were stolen from a 1993 Honda parked in the 4400 block of Veterans Drive in Woodbridge between 10 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday.

• A saw and a blade valued at a combined $960 were stolen from a home in the 3500 block of Lacebark Elm Court in Lake Ridge between 1:30 and 1:45 p.m. Saturday.
