OBITUARIES
Ruth Nash Ransom, 86, of Manassas, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, at her home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gray Portis Ransom Jr.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Ruth Cassady; her son, Gray P. Ransom III; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Lee Funeral Home, 8521 Sudley Road, Manassas.
Services and interment will be for family only at Stonewall Memory Gardens in Manassas.
Charles V. Barton
Charles V. Barton, 52, of Spotsylvania, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth.
He was born Dec. 3, 1949, in Wisconsin and was a retired computer specialist for the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Jeanne Barton.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Bariexca Barton of Spotsylvania; one son, Stuart Barton of Norfolk; three stepdaughters, Nicole Hartlieb, Erica Hartlieb and Mistie Washington, all of Winston-Salem, N.C.; one stepson, Paul Hartlieb of the home; one sister, Pauline Simms of Illinois; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Mullins & Thompson Fredericksburg Chapel, the Rev. David F. Russell officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Association.
