Howard Alan Leshin, 56, of Manassas, died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, at Prince William Hospital, Manassas.
He was born on Feb. 4, 1946, in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was a teacher for Prince William County Schools for more than 27 years. Most recently he taught mathematics at Stonewall Middle School, Manassas. He coached and umpired youth and adult baseball. He was an active supporter and participant in KYDA Pro Wrestling.
He is preceded in death by one sister.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Phyllis; two sons, Devin and Randy; his mother, Hannah Coughlin; two sisters; and many nieces, nephews, friends and students.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. today at Lee Funeral Home, 8521 Sudley Road, Manassas. Interment will be private.

Viola M. McMurtrey
Viola Marguerite McMurtrey, 79, of Manassas, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at her home.
She was a member of the Manassas Church of the Nazarene and Manassas Park VFW Auxilliary. She retired from Prince William County Health Department after 24 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Y. McMurtrey, who died in 1964.
She is survived by two daughters, Joyce L. Evans of Centreville and Catherine A. McMurtrey of Alexandria; two sisters, Ruby Clapper of College Park, Md., and Maxine Coufal of Cotesfield, Neb.; two granddaugters; and two great-granddaughters.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Manassas Church of the Nazarene, 8220 East Spruce St., Manassas. Inurnment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Northern Virginia, Prince William Clinical Office, 9540 Center St., Suite 300, Manassas, VA 20110, in memory of Viola M. McMurtrey.
