William W. McKendree

William Wayne McKendree, 70, of Fredericksburg died Thursday, May 16, 2002, at his residence.

Born in Summerville, Pa., he joined the U.S. Navy in 1949 in Pittsburgh and served during Korea and Vietnam before retiring in 1969 in Washington, D.C.

Preceded in death by his parents, Wayne JoDon and Iva Grace Beck McKendree; and one brother, Raymond Earl McKendree; he is survived by his wife of 47 years, Neoma Virginia Smith McKendree; six children, Walter Merle McKendree of Colonial Beach, William Kenneth McKendree of Manassas, Wanda Lee Morris, Wayne JoDon McKendree and Deborah Virginia Spitler, all of Fredericksburg and Sandra Dee McPhail of Germantown, Tenn.; one sister, Beverly Joyce McHale of Portersville, Pa.; two brothers, Richard Doyle McKendree of Ford City, Pa., and Harold Lester McKendree of Vandergrift, Pa.; 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The family received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Mountcastle Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd., Dale City, where funeral services will be held today at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Richard Headley. Interment to follow at Quantico National Cemetery. Condolences may be e-mailed to mountcastle.net.

Michael V. Allen

Michael V. Allen, 42, of Woodbridge died Friday, May 17, 2002 at home.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Yates Allen.

He is survived by his father, Charles Lee Allen Jr.; six brothers, Bobby, Johny, Donald, Barry, Greg and Jimmy Allen; four sisters, Peggy Story, Barbara Kopasz, Jean Brill and Pat Allen; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Blvd., Woodbridge, from 9 a.m. Tuesday until 11 a.m. service time. Internment will follow at Ivy Hill Cemetery, King Street, Alexandria.
