Prostitution sting in Fairfax County leads to arrests of three area residents

Two Woodbridge men and a Manassas woman were among the 56 people arrested in a series of prostitution stings in Fairfax County on May 24.

Ruiz A. Velazquez, 23, and Juan Murillo, 24, both of 31 Occoquan Road, have been charged with solicitation of prostitution. Police charged Michelle Donofrio, 29, of 8468 McKenzie Court in Manassas of disorderly conduct, police said.

Construction vehicles stolen in separate incidents

Prince William County police Thursday reported two instances of grand larceny that occurred between May 24 and Tuesday.

Thieves stole a Caterpillar backhoe, worth $45,000, from the 4600 block Prince William Parkway near Hoadly Road, police said.

A 1992 Caterpillar bulldozer also was taken from the 17300 block of River Ridge, police said. The vehicle was worth an estimated $60,000, police said.

Dumfries man missing since Wednesday, police say

A 23-year-old Dumfries man has been reported missing, according to Prince William County police.

Bashizi Jerry Matali of 3014 Antrim Circle was last seen Wednesday at about 10 a.m. Matali, who suffers from a mental illness, did not take his medication with him, police said.

Matali, described as black, 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 190 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and an unshaven face. He may have been traveling to New York City, police added.

Pedestrian attacked by man in bushes in Woodbridge

An unidentified man jumped out of the bushes and attacked a pedestrian in the 14700 block of Jeffries Road in Woodbridge on Tuesday, but the victim was able to fight him off, Prince William County police said Thursday.

Man robbed of cash by group behind Holiday Inn

Several men robbed a man of cash behind the Holiday Inn at 10800 Vandor Lane near the Manassas National Battlefield Park on Saturday, Prince William County police said Thursday.

The victim was walking in the parking lot when the thieves approached him, asked him if had any money and then stole the cash when the man showed the wallet, police said.

In a separate attack, four men attacked a 24-year-old man inside his hotel room at 10800 Balls Ford Road near Manassas on Saturday.

The men, all black., are described as:

20 to 21 years old, 6 feet tall, 160 pounds, clean cut, short hair and wearing a white shirt and shorts that may be blood-stained;

18 to 19 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 150 pounds with corn row hair and a clean-shaven face;

16 to 17 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 150 pounds, with red and white beads in his hair;

18 to 20 years old, 6 feet 1 inch tall, 200 pounds, with black hair and wearing a black skull cap, police said.

Oven mitts, tequila stolen from Mexican restaurant

Burglars stole cash, oven mitts, a bottle of tequila and knives from El Paso Mexican Restaurant at 3000 Golansky Blvd. sometime between Sunday and Tuesday, Prince William County police said Thursday.

Power tools stolen from Lake Jackson shed

Intruders stole power tools from a side shed of a Lake Jackson home in the 8900 block of Christine Place sometime Sunday or Monday, Prince William County police said Thursday.

They entered through a open door, police said.

Guns stolen from Montyville Drive home

Five guns were among the roughly $7,000 worth of property stolen from a home in the 9800 block of Montyville Drive near Manassas on Sunday or Monday, Prince William County police said Thursday.

There was no sign of forced entry in the burglary; various electronics and jewelry were stolen, police said.
