Green leads Stonewall victory

MANASSAS — Freshman designated hitter Jessie Green hit a second-inning grand slam and Becca Walker went 2 for 2 to spur Stonewall Jackson (5-0) to a 19-0 victory over Forest Park.

The Raiders open district play against Osbourn Park on Friday.

NORTH STAFFORD 4, WOODBRIDGE 1: Katie Duncan, Julie Oakes and Erin West each had two hits as the Wolverines improved to 6-1.

Katie Fox (6-1) earned the win for North Stafford. Oakes, in addition to her two hits, scored two runs.

The Wolverines’ next game is scheduled for Friday at Brooke Point.


BRENTSVILLE 9, CLARKE COUNTY 4: Matt Engel doubled and scored three runs as the Tigers improved to 2-2 overall, 2-0 in the Bull Run District with a home victory.

Brentsville pitcher Chris Hickerson earned the win by striking out six in five innings. He pitched four shutout innings before a three-run Clarke County fifth.

Also for Brentsville, Casey Armstrong went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI and Matt Carrick went 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Each of Clarke County’s five hits were singles.

POTOMAC 8, BROOKE POINT 1: Brad Dillard went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run and Brandon Maupin hit a grand slam in the Panthers’ non-district win over Brooke Point.

Dillard and Maupin also teamed up on the mound, along with Travis Jones. The three allowed four Black-Hawk hits.

The win improves Potomac’s record to 6-1 on the season.


MILLS GODWIN 4, WOODBRIDGE 1: Adam Cristman scored a hat trick as Mills Godwin topped Woodbridge in a non-district contest.

Cristman scored the first two goals of the contest — both unassisted — and Justin Williams gave Mills Godwin a 3-0 lead in the 48th minute. The Vikings (1-1-1) got on the board with Matt Clines scored off of an assist from Greg Roach.
