Police Briefs for Jan. 7
Police found a man yelling for help after being burned by a pot of boiling water on Monday at 5:36 a.m. in the 3600 block of Jurgensen Drive near Dumfries, said 1st. Sgt. Kim Chinn, a Prince William police spokeswoman.
The man’:s girlfriend, Prentice Norris, 29, of 3601 Jurgensen Drive, allegedly threw a pot of boiling water on him after an argument, Chinn said. She was charged with aggravated malicious wounding.
The man was airlifted to Washington Hospital Centers’:s burn unit.
Woman stabs boyfriend in neck after argument
A 37-year-old man was stabbed in the neck by his girlfriend after an argument on their way home from a Manassas restaurant at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, in the 2400 block of Kilpatrick Place in Dumfries, said 1st Sgt. Kim Chinn, a Prince William police spokeswoman.
On the way home, the man allegedly punched Alicia Adams, 25, in the jaw, Chinn said. While driving, the two fought and Adams, of 121 17th St. in Roanoke, allegedly hit and bit the man.
They stopped the car and Adams, along with another couple, got out and took a different ride. When they arrived on Kilpatrick Place, the man was waiting on the front step of a home there, Chinn said.
Adams went into the house and got an iron skillet and knife, Chinn said. She then went outside, broke the front windshield of the man’:s car with her skillet and stabbed him in the neck after he “bumped her,” Chinn said. The man was taken to Potomac Hospital and then flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital. He is in critical condition there, Chinn said. Adams was charged with aggravated malicious wounding and damage to personal property.
Chinn said an investigation in the case is ongoing.
Three invade Woodbridge home, fight with residents
Two men and one woman forced their way into a Woodbridge home in the 2100 block of Gunsmith Terrace at 6:40 p.m. Friday, said 1st Sgt. Kim Chinn, a Prince William police spokeswoman.
The men and the woman knocked on the door and asked if a specific person was home. After answering that he was not, the 24-year-old who answered the door tried to shut it. One of the men came in and punched him in the face. They began fighting. A 22-year-old man then came in from the kitchen and locked the outside door so the other two could not get in. They broke down the door, however, and fought with the men in the home, who were joined by another man who was already in the home. His age was not available Monday.
One of the home invaders brought a baseball bat into the fight, the other was using pieces of the broken door as a weapon, Chinn said.
They fled in a gold Jeep Cherokee with Maryland license plates. The victims suffered swollen lips and bruises.
The men who forced their way in are described as black males. The first is 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighed 160 pounds. He was about 25 years and had a very bad complexion. He wore his hair in corn rows, Chinn said.
The second is between 18 and 22 years and stood 5 feet 6 inches. He had a heavy build, Chinn said.
The woman who accompanied the intruders is white and has a heavy build.
Police are continuing to follow leads, Chinn said.
Four men attack, assault 20-year-old at McDonald’:s
A 20-year-old man was assaulted and robbed after leaving a McDonald’:s restaurant in the 13600 block of Mapledale Drive in Dale City at 2 p.m. Thursday, said 1st Sgt. Kim Chinn, a Prince William police spokeswoman.
Four men followed and argued with him about a girl, Chinn said.
One man held him down and the others assaulted him.
He suffered lacerations to the head and swollen areas to the head and face. The police do have leads to follow, Chinn said.
The first robber is described as a black male. The second is an Asian male between the ages of 15 and 17, possibly from Woodbridge, Chinn said.
The third and fourth robbers are described only as “teenage black males,” Chinn said.
20-year-old robbed after leaving Wal-Mart
A 20-year-old man told police he was robbed after leaving the Wal-Mart in the 14000 block of Worth Avenue in Woodbridge at 9:50 p.m. Sunday, said 1st Sgt. Kim Chinn, a Prince William police spokeswoman.
The man said robbers approached him and put a handgun to his chest. He said he punched it away and punched the robber. The man said the other one hit him, he hit back and they ran away, Chinn said.
The first robber is described as a black male wearing a gray sweatshirt. He is between the ages of 18 and 21 and stood 5 feet 11 inches, weighing 160 pounds.
The second is described as an “unknown male” standing 5 feet 11 inches, weighing 160 pounds Chinn said.
Woman charged with beating boyfriend
A woman was charged with assault after beating her 45-year-old boyfriend with a dish and broomstick at 5:10 a.m. Saturday, in the 3100 block of Chesapeake Drive near Dumfries, leaving him with cuts and bumps, said 1st Sgt. Kim Chinn, a Prince William police spokeswoman.
Police charged Sylvia Street, 33, of 3102 Chesapeake Drive, apartment 104, with the assault.
Man charged, arrested for firing gun
Police arrested and charged a man with public intoxication and reckless discharge of a firearm after he fired his shotgun in the air in the 2800 block of Woodmark Drive in Woodbridge at 1:07 a.m. Sunday, said 1st Sgt. Kim Chinn, a Prince William police spokeswoman.
Items totaling $1,300 stolen from Triangle home
A video camera, jewelry and DVDs were stolen from a home in the 19000 block of Fuller Heights Road in Triangle between 11 a.m. and 1:35 p.m. Sunday, said 1st Sgt. Kim Chinn, a Prince William police spokeswoman.
The missing items are valued at $1,300.
