Police briefs for May 16, 2002
A group of men with a baseball bat beat up a 23-year-old man while the victim was walking in the 3100 block of Chesapeake Drive in Woodbridge on Tuesday afternoon, Prince William police said Wednesday.
Police said five or six assailants, who were black, wearing black shirts and blue jeans, pulled up in a green car and a black car and attacked the man, who refused medical attention, police said.
Woman finds man at door, brick through window
A Woodbridge woman opened the door of her home in the 15000 block of Cardin Place on Tuesday night and found a stranger standing at her doorstep, Prince William police said Wednesday.
Someone then threw a brick through her window, causing $350 worth of damage, police said.
Witnesses said that two vehicles — a blue Geo Metro and a black vehicle, both occupied by men — were in the area at the time of the attack, police said.
Neighbors say teens near site of burglary
Thieves stole a Sony PlayStation and games, phones, jewelry and cash from a home in the 13600 block of Rush Drive in Rollingwood Village in Woodbridge on Monday, Prince William police said Wednesday.
Those responsible, who took more than $2,700 worth of property, pushed out a rear window to get into the home, police said.
Neighbors in the area noticed two 18- or 19-year-old men standing in front of the home before it was robbed. Police described the first suspect as white, 6 feet tall, weighing 170 pounds with a light brown Afro-style haircut, wearing khaki shorts and no shirt.
The other was a black male, 5 feet 8 inches tall, wearing navy blue clothing and a had a thin build, police said.
Masked man runs into homeowner during break-in
An unidentified man wearing a black ski mask entered a Dale City residence Monday night.
The intruder walked though the home’s front door, and then ran off after he encountered a 38-year-old woman inside, Prince William police said Wednesday.
The intruder is described as 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds and wearing a camouflage jacket.
