Police briefs for Oct. 5
A 16-year-old boy was attacked by three other teenagers Thursday at 6:30 p.m. as he stood and talked to two girls in Dale City at the intersection of Kidwell and Kenwood drives, said Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman.
The boy told police that one of the three assailants approached him, then motioned for the other two to join him, Mangan said.
Each of the three hit the 16-year-old in the face, Mangan said.
The victim, who was cut slightly on the side of his face and ear during the assault, broke free, ran away and called police, Mangan said.
The victim identified the 14-, 15- and 16-year-olds who attacked him and petitions are pending an each, Mangan said.
Chevy Cavalier stolen from Exxon in Manassas
An unlocked 1993 two-door Chevrolet Cavalier with the engine running was stolen from The Exxon station at the intersection of Grant and Richmond avenues at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday, said Sgt. Marc Woolverton, Manassas police spokesman.
A 34-year-old man told police he left the borrowed car running when he went inside the gas station. When he returned the car, which belongs to a Reston woman, was gone, Woolverton said.
The car is gray with Virginia plates, XZG-4994, Woolverton said.
Police ask that anyone with information call Crime Solvers at (703) 330-0330. Callers do not have to give their names or testify in court and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
Electronics, jewelry stolen from Dale City home
A Gameboy, a CD player and jewelry were stolen between 8:05 a.m. 2:30 p.m. Wednesday from a home in the 5500 block of Neddleton Avenue in Dale City, said Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman,
The value of the stolen property was estimated at $2,775. There were no signs of force entry, Mangan said.
Vehicles burglarized on Fullerton Road
A 2000 KIA Sportage and a Jeep Wrangler parked in the 14100 block of Fullerton Road, in Dale City were burglarized on Sept. 30 between 12:01 and 8 a.m., said Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman.
A CD changer, a purse and a book bag worth an estimated $320 were stolen from the KIA. A CD changer worth $360 and $60 in cash and were stolen from the Jeep, Mangan said.
There were no signs of forced entry on the KIA. A window in the Jeep’s soft top was slashed. Mangan said.
CDs, equipment stolen from vehicle on Bayside Dr.
A portable CD player, 30 music CD’s and a vehicle adapter were stolen from a 1990 Honda Accord in the 1400 block of Bayside Drive in Woodbridge between 12 and 6 p.m. on Sept. 30, said Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman.
The value of the stolen items was estimated at $420. There were no signs of forced entry on the Accord, Mangan said.
Electronics equipment stolen from Dale City home
A Sharp DVD player, a Sony stereo and a cordless phone worth an estimated $440 were stolen from a Dale City home in the 3900 block of Forestdale Avenue on Thursday between 9:15 a.m. and 9 p.m., said Detective Dennis Mangan Prince William police spokesman.
Police found no signs of forced entry, Mangan said.
Triangle business broken into, nothing stolen
Police responded to 12:13 a.m. alarm Friday at Pawn Plus shop at 18059 Triangle Plaza and found the hinges had been pried off the front door, said Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman.
Nothing appeared to have been stolen, Mangan said.
Construction trailers burglarized near Manassas
Two construction storage trailers at an Angler Construction project in the 12200 block of Randolph Ridge Lane, near the Manassas Battlefield Park, were burglarized between 7 a.m. on Sept. 28 and 5:15 a.m. on Sept. 30, said Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman.
Latches were hammered off of both trailers. A generator, an 18-inch Stihl Homelite saw, and four racks were stolen. The total estimated value of the stolen property was $1,696, Mangan said.
Honda motorcycle stolen from Dale City Applebee’s
A 1989 Honda Enduro motorcycle with New York tags was stolen from the parking lot of the Applebee’s Restaurant in 13800 block of Noblewood Plaza in Dale City between 9 and 11 p.m. Thursday, said Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman.
Car left for repairs burglarized
A 1994 Honda Accord, left for repairs at a shop in the 8000 block of Streamwalk Lane, was burglarized between 8 and 11 a.m. on Sept. 30, said Detective Dennis Mangan.
The victim told police that a JVC cassette player worth an estimated $350 was missing from his car when he returned to the shop after the repairs were finished. There were no signs of force entry on the Accord, Mangan said.
Electronics gear stolen from car in Woodbridge
An Alpine CD player, two MTX sub-woofers, two 600-watt generators and an equalizer were stolen from a 2000 Honda Accord between 11:45 p.m. Wednesday and 6:30 a.m. Thursday, said Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman.
The victim told police the car was parked in the 13900 block of Longwood Manor Court in Woodbridge when the items, worth an estimated $1,950 were stolen. A small, triangular window in the rear of the Honda was broken, Mangan said.
