Woodbridge man charged with slicing neighbor, resisting arrest Saturday

A Woodbridge man sliced a neighbor on the back of his neck as part of a rampage through the Cambridge Square area before Prince William County police arrested him early Saturday morning, Detective Dennis Mangan, a police spokesman, said Tuesday.

Christopher J. Bellinger, 24, of 15105 Arum Place, first attracted police attention to his neighborhood Saturday when he broke a car window and damaged its hood, Mangan said.

Bellinger then is said to have chased a 21-year-old to an apartment in the 15000 block of Lost Canyon Court. Bellinger followed him in before slicing him on the back of a neck, likely with a knife, Mangan said.

The assailant went back to Arum Place, where police searched for him. Bellinger ran into nearby woods, Mangan said, but officers caught him and made the arrest.

Police charged Bellinger with burglary with intent to assault, destruction of private property, malicious wounding and resisting arrest, Mangan said. Bond information was not available Tuesday afternoon.
