Brenda Tate

Brenda C. Tate of Prince William County died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001, at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond.

Born in Princess Ann County to Anthony and Dorothy Cooper, she was a graduate of Kellam High School and Norfolk State University. She was employed at Virginia Beach General Hospital as a licensed practical nurse for 13 years. After relocating to Slidell, La., and Prince William County, she continued to work as a private duty nurse, nursing instructor, assistant store manager and craft specialty shop owner.

Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Hansford Emanuel Tate; daughter, Christina Tate; six sisters, Deborah Crique, Gloria Coston, Betty Harris, Shirley Siplin, Wanda Cooper and Angela Ingram; three brothers, Michael Cooper, Anthony (Woody) Cooper and Virgil Sean Cooper.

A memorial service will be held today from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Siloam Baptist Church, 1614 Zacata Road, Montross.

A funeral service will be held at noon Friday at Piney Grove Baptist Church, 2804 Holland Road, Virginia Beach, with Elder John H. Coston officiating. Burial will be at Princess Ann Memorial Park, 1110 Great Neck Road, Virginia Beach.

Jason E. Perkinson

Jason Eric Perkinson, 27, of Woodbridge, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, in Carolina Beach, N.C.

Born in Petersburg, he is survived by his parents, Ronald Lee and Elizabeth Floyd Perkinson of Woodbridge; his son, Eric Anthony Perkinson of Virginia Beach; one sister, Andrea Perkinson Kincaid of Woodbridge; his grandfather, Alwyn Floyd Sr. and stepgrandmother Thelma Floyd of Matoaca; and several aunts and uncles.

The service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Mountcastle Funeral Home, Dale Boulevard, Woodbridge.

Expressions of sympathy can take the form of contributions to the charity of ones choice in memory of Jason Eric Peterson.

Karen Stogner

Karen E. Stogner, 32, of Lake Ridge, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, at Fairfax Hospital.

Survivors include her parents, Rhett and Jennifer Stogner of Lake Ridge; her maternal grandmother, Elizabeth DuBose of Columbia, S.C.; her paternal grandmother, Mattie Jackson Walter of Springfield; and many other family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Mountcastle Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd., Dale City, with burial to be private.
