Man flees after botched bank robbery attempt

A potential robber ran from the Bank of America at 7701 Donegan Drive in the Manassas area Saturday at 7:48 a.m., Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said on Monday.

The robber approached a 58-year-old woman as she was opening the bank. He pushed her through the doors. She tried to shut the alarm off, but couldn’t. He fled as he realized she was not getting it right.

The robber is black, between 20 and 30 and is about 5 feet 9 inches. He was wearing a dark jacket, dark sweatshirt and tan pants.

Jewelry, electronics stolen from Princedale Drive home

A DVD player, Dell laptop, jewelry and change valued at $4,450 were stolen from a home in the 13500 block of Princedale Drive in Dale City between Saturday at 6 p.m., and Sunday at 3:30 p.m., Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said on Monday.

DVD player, TV/VCR stolen from Dale City home

A burglar stole a DVD player, and TV/VCR combination from a home on Rockinghorse Drive in Dale City between Saturday at 7 a.m., and Sunday at 11:30 a.m., Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said on Monday.

The missing goods are valued at $1,020.

Honda motorcycle stolen from Dale City garage

A Honda CR-80 motorcycle was stolen from a garage in the 14100 block of Rockinghorse Drive in Dale City between Jan. 22 at an unknown time and Jan. 29 at an unknown time, Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said on Monday.

The bike is valued at $2,600.

Two charged in Dale City with driving stolen car

Three people were stopped by an officer for driving around in a stolen car Sunday at 12:28 p.m., on Madrigal Drive in Dale City, Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said on Monday.

After noticing a group of people inside the car, the officer ran a license plate check, Mangan said. the car was reported stolen out of Fairfax County.

After stopping the car on Mardigal, the officer made two arrests, Mangan said.

A juvenile was charged with possession of stolen property. Virginia law prohibits police from releasing the names of juveniles charged with crimes.

Edward Anthony Gunera, 18, of Castle Hill Drive in Woodbridge was charged with misdemeanor possession of stolen property.

Windows shot out of Neabsco Baptist Church

Windows valued at $1,800 were shot out of the Neabsco Baptist Church on Cardinal Drive in Woodbridge between 7 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Sunday, Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said on Monday.

A Pioneer stereo valued at $249 was stolen from a 1990 Honda Accord in the 14300 block of Fallbrook Lane in Dale City between Jan. 13 at 3:30 p.m., and Sunday at 2:30 a.m., Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said on Monday.

A stereo valued at $200 was stolen from a 1993 Nissan in the 4100 block of Granby Road between 1 and 5 a.m. Monday, Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said on Monday.

Snowboard gear stolen from SUV in Lake Ridge

Snowboard equipment and a digital camera were stolen from a 1997 Ford Explorer parked in the 11500 block of Hill Meade Lane in Lake Ridge between Sunday at 8 p.m., and Monday at 12:25 a.m., Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said on Monday.

The missing equipment and damage total $1,810.

CD player stolen from car on Horizon Court

A Pioneer CD player was stolen from a 1991 Honda in the 2000 block of Horizon Court in Woodbridge between 9 p.m. Friday, and noon Saturday, Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said Monday.

Sony equipment valued at $1,300 was stolen from a Nissan Sentra in the same area at approximately the same time.

Stereo equipment stolen from vehicles on Kirwyn Ct.

Speakers, stereos and CD players were stolen from seven different vehicles in the 4900 block of Kirwyn Court in Dale City on Saturday between 2 and 8 a.m., Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said on Monday.

All of the equipment and damage totals $4,180.

Credit cards, CDs stolen from car on Hyatt Place

A Walkman CD player, 300 CDs and credit cards valued at $3,150 were stolen from a 1996 Honda Civic parked at the intersection of Maryland Avenue and Hyatt Place in Woodbridge, Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said on Monday.

A stereo and CD changer were stolen from a 1997 Dodge parked at the intersection of Delaware Drive and Arnica Street in Woodbridge between Wednesday at 4 p.m. and Saturday at 10 a.m., Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said on Monday.

Computer, clothes stolen from Chelsea Drive home

A Dell laptop computer, CDs, luggage, clothes and medicine valued at $3,100 were stolen from a 1997 Pontiac in the 4300 block of Chelsea Drive in Woodbridge, Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said on Monday.

Manassas Baptist Church suffers third burglary

The Manassas Baptist Church in the former Marsteller Middle School building at 8742 Sudley Road was burglarized for the third time recently during the night between Friday and Saturday, Sgt. Marc Woolverton, Manassas police spokesman said on Monday.

Glass in the rear door was smashed out; a case of soda, ice cream bars, and candy was stolen.

A chrome fire extinguisher, tachometer, amplifier, NTZ 10 inch sub-woofer and 90 CDs valued at $1,980 were stolen from a 1995 Honda Civic parked on Stonewall Road next to Stonewall Park in Manassas, Sgt. Marc Woolverton, Manassas police spokesman said on Monday.

There was no sign of forced entry.

Honda Civic stolen on Carlton Drive

A helpless owner watched as a thief drove away in his 1995 Honda Civic, which was parked in the 8600 block of Carlton Drive at 2:25 a.m. Saturday, Sgt. Marc Woolverton, Manassas police spokesman said on Monday.

The car was being driven away as the man left his home.

The car, orange with a rear spoiler, tinted windows and loud exhaust, was being driven away as the man left his home. The license plates read JOSH-84; the car is valued at $8,000.

Woman grabbed, robbed on Fuller Heights Road

A 22-year-old woman was grabbed, spun around and pushed against a wall by a man who also ripped her shirt Friday in the 19000 block of Fuller Heights Road in Triangle, Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said on Monday.

She kicked the man and subsequently dropped prescription pills she was carrying. He grabbed them and ran.

The man is black, about 5 feet 11 inches and had a medium build.

Motorcycle stolen from home on Jayhawk Terrace

A yellow and black 2000 Suzuki motorcycle valued at $5,000 and its cover were stolen from a home in the 9500 block of Jayhawk Terrace in Manassas between Thursday night and Friday morning at unknown times, Sgt. Marc Woolverton, Manassas police spokesman said on Monday.

Car stolen from lot of Manassas restaraunt

A 1994 Honda Prelude was stolen from the parking lot of the Mexico Lindo restaurant at 8630 Mathis Ave. in Manassas while its owner was inside eating dinner Friday between 7:20 and 8 p.m., Sgt. Marc Woolverton, Manassas police spokesman said on Monday.

The black Prelude has Virginia license plates YCN-5705; it is valued at $10,000.

Victim assaulted with wrench on Holden Drive

A victim of unknown age was hit in the face with a pipe wrench Friday at 4:50 p.m., after a 17-year-old boy followed him home to the 100 block of Holden Drive in Manassas Park, police there said on Monday.

The boys had some kind of “altercation” at the Manassas Mall earlier in the day.

Police are going to obtain a detention order for the boy, they said; no arrests have yet been made.

Virginia law prohibits police from releasing the names of juveniles charged with crimes.

TV, stereo, cash stolen from Taney Road home

A television, stereo and undisclosed amount of cash was stolen from a home in the 9200 block of Taney Road in Manassas between 7 and 8:40 p.m. Friday, Sgt. Marc Woolverton, Manassas police spokesman said on Monday.
