• Advance tickets are on sale for one of the nation’s most unique events. The 62nd annual Waterford Homes Tour and Crafts Exhibit (also known as the Waterford Fair) takes place this year Oct. 7 to 9 in Waterford from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Advance tickets can be purchased for $13 at Delisle Antiques, 9115 Center St., in Manassas.

• The Manassas Warrenton Camera Club will host the second annual Aviation Photography Competition as part of the seventh annual Festival of Freedom to be conducted Oct. 8 to 9 at the Freedom Museum in the Manassas Regional Airport Terminal Building.

All entries must have an aviation theme and the competition is open to the public. Only prints will be accepted.

Entries may be submitted by mail or in person to: Aviation Photo Contest, Attn: Gene Wells, 12914 Canova Drive, Manassas, VA 20112 or may be delivered to the Airport Terminal on Oct. 7 between 4 and 8 p.m. Mailed entries must be accompanied by a self-addressed, stamped envelope. All entries must be the photographic work solely of the exhibitor. The print size must be a minimum of 4- by 6-inches and a maximum of 16- by 20-inches, and must be mounted on a surface suitable to support the print. • Do you know someone who can no longer enjoy reading standard print materials due to temporary or permanent visual, physical or learning disability?

They may be eligible for National Library Service talking books. To provide more information about this service, Nancy Buck, Outreach Services Coordinator of the Central Rappahannock Regional Library, will offer a special program at Bull Run Regional Library at 5 p.m. Sept. 21.

• Senator Charles Colgan, D-Manassas, and Delegate Harry Parrish, R-Manassas, are co-sponsoring a benefit Charity Golf Tournament on Sept. 13 at the Heritage Hunt Golf and Country Club in Gainesville.
