Friday is Earth Day, but there are several events this weekend for earth-minded folks who may miss the Friday celebrations.
The annual Occoquan River spring clean up is Saturday between 9 a.m. and noon.
Meet at one of the following sites to help clean the river shore:
• 12350 Cotton Mill Drive in Lake Ridge, Occoquan Town Hall.
• Occoquan Town Hall at 314 Mill St., Occoquan.
• Bull Run Marina at 12619 Old Yates Ford Road, Clifton.
• Fountain Head Park at 10875 Hampton Road, Fairfax.

The Prince William Clean Community Council will host a couple neighborhood clean-ups Saturday and Sunday.
The Prince William Department Public Works will place large trash bins at Rippon Landing and Featherstone to make it easy for people to clean around their neighborhoods.
People who wish to volunteer just need to show up at 15400 Old Coach Road between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday or at 1108 Mapleton St. in Featherstone between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sunday.
The Prince William Clean Community Council is a non-profit organization dedicated to a cleaner Prince William environment through litter prevention, environmental education and community involvement.
Find Earth Day exhibits and demonstrations, hosted by the 2005 Youth Ambassadors for the Environment, at the Spring Fling Lawn and Garden Show at the Prince William County Fairgrounds between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday.

Prince William Forest Park will host “March for the Parks” Saturday between 9 a.m. and noon.
Those who wish to walk in the park that was opened in 1933 as the Chopawamsic Recreation Area should meet at the Pine Grove Picnic Area near the visitor center to register for a 1.4- or 6.2- mile hike.
Bring a lunch to eat in the woods.
The hike is sponsored by the Friends of Prince William Forest Park and the Dale Wanderers, a local volkssport association.
