Manassas Journal Messenger | Child drowns in pool

A 2-year-old Manassas Park child drowned in the family pool when relatives went inside to clean up Sunday, according to a search warrant filed in Prince William County Circuit Court Monday.

When the family went into their Sheldon Street house, the toddler went back outside, unlocked the pool fence and fell in.

Police performed CPR, but the child was pronounced dead at Prince William Hospital.

It was unclear Monday whether the child is a boy or girl. Manassas Park police officials could not be reached late Tuesday.
