Manassas Journal Messenger | Bull Run Regional Library hosts multiple events

Are you interested in meeting other knitters? Would you like to knit for charity?

Then those interested should stop by the Bull Run Regional Library on Saturday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., meet other knitters and knit a small project for charity. Yarn, patterns and refreshments will be provided.

Attendees should bring size 7 to 8 knitting needles. This program is free and is open to all adults and teenagers but registration is requested.

To reserve a lace, call (703) 792-4530 or register in person at the library at 8051 Ashton Ave., Manassas.

Anyone who would like to knit a charity project but can’t make it to the library on Saturday can call Barbara Donley at (703) 792-4530 for details on how to participate.

Other events planned are:

• The Mystery Book Club will meet on Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. and discuss “Last Lessons of Summer” by Margaret Maron. Registration is not required for the club which meets on the second Monday of each month to discuss a variety of titles.

• The Halloween movie “The Beast with Five Fingers” will be shown on Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. This bizarre horror film from 1946 stars Peter Lorre and Robert Alda. Brave and interested persons can register for the free program at the library.

• Spirits will rise as the D. C. Metro Area Ghost Watchers describe their work investigating ghost and haunting on Oct. 19 at 7 p.m.. Those attending can learn signs of haunting, the many types of ghosts, and where to search for ghosts with experts who have been conducting paranormal research throughout the region.
