Lake Ridge man charged with brandishing gun
A 25-year-old Lake Ridge man was arrested after allegedly pointing a gun in a woman’s face following an argument Sunday evening in Lake Ridge, Prince William County police said.
Lengurs William Haynes, of 12518, was charged with brandishing a firearm, said Sgt. Dennis Mangan, police spokesman.

Haynes was talking with a group of people in the 12200 block of Granada Way around 6:30 p.m. when he got in an argument with a 20-year-old woman. Haynes then pulled out a gun and pointed it at the victim before driving off, police said.
Haynes was arrested at his home and police found a gun, Mangan said.
Brush fire started near Woodbridge High School
Someone lit a small pile of brush on fire near an entrance to Woodbridge Senior High School in Lake Ridge sometime Sunday night or Monday morning, police said.
The fire was lit near one of the school’s doors between 9:30 p.m. Sunday and 3:20 a.m. Monday, police said.
Prince William County Fire Marshals are investigating the case, but police said anyone with information can call them at (866) 411-TIPS. Callers do not have to give their names or testify in court and may receive up to $1,000 reward.
Man charged with trying to break into car in Dale City
A 34-year-old Arlington man was arrested after allegedly breaking into a car Friday morning in Dale City, police said.
Nelson Argerico Torres was charged with grand larceny, possession of burglary tools and resisting arrest, and was held without bond, police said.
A 2000 Honda Civic was broken into in the 14100 block of Cuddy Loop around 6:30 a.m. An officer saw a suspicious person in the area behind a building.
When the person saw the officer, he began to run and the officer chased him.
The burglar jumped over a fence into the 14200 block of Madrigal Lane and was hiding in the corner of a yard, but the officer found him.
Police said Torres had a flashlight, screwdriver and wire cutters in his possession, along with a Sony compact disc player, compact disc case and various CDs.

? A laptop and suitcase valued at a combined $2,700 were stolen from a 2005 Toyota parked in the garage of a home in the 13000 block of Smoketown Road in Lake Ridge between 11 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday.
? Four cameras, a camcorder, two MP3 players and a watch valued at a combined $1,260 were stolen from a home in the 17300 block of Sligo Loop in Southbridge between 9 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Friday.
? A canoe valued at $650 was stolen from a rack near the intersection of Waterway Drive and Moncure Drive in Montclair between Oct. 4 and April 5.
? A paint sprayer valued at $1,900 was stolen from a 2003 Chevrolet parked in the 16200 block of Edgewood Drive in Montclair between 7 p.m. Wednesday and 5:30 a.m. Thursday.
? An air compressor and a miter saw valued at a combined $839 were stolen from a 1999 Ford parked in the 16900 block of Point Pleasant Lane in Woodbridge between 11 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 a.m. Thursday.
? A compact disc player, amplifier and speaker valued at a combined $800 were stolen from a 1994 GMC parked in the 13100 block of Kumar Road in Dale City between 5 p.m. Saturday and 11:30 a.m. Sunday.
? A man described as black, wearing tan pants and a white, brown and orange shirt, stole $400 from the Sonoco gas station at 14501 Gideon Drive in Woodbridge around 6 p.m. Friday.
? A Pioneer stereo, CD player and subwoofer valued at a combined $1,600 were stolen from a 1996 Chevrolet parked in the 14000 block of Roanoke Street between 11:45 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday.
