Manassas Journal Messenger | Two men charged with abduction

Police charged two men with assault and battery and abduction after they tied a third man with clothing and held him at a home in the Manassas Park area between 2 and 9 a.m. Monday, said Sgt. Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman.

Police said that Arnoldo Alvarez-Ceballos, 19, of 7620 Stuart Court, and Alondo Lopez, 43, of 7493 Princess Carol Court, Apt. 1, accused the victim of stealing money during a card game at 7620 Stuart Court and held him captive after everyone else left, Mangan said.

“Apparently there were a lot of people there playing cards,” Mangan said.

At about 9 a.m. Ceballos and Lopez took their bound victim to his family’s Yorkshire-area home in the 7600 block of Somerset Lane, to exchange him for money, Mangan said.

When the victim’s family saw that he was tied up, they told Ceballos and Lopez that they were going to call the police, Mangan said.

The family told police that Ceballos and Lopez ran away at the threat.

Police found the two men in the area later and arrested them, Mangan said.

Ceballos and Lopez told police different stories about their reasons for holding the victim, Mangan said.

“They said that he stole the money. Then they said that it was someone in his family that stole the money,” Mangan said.

Bond and court date information for Lopez and Ceballos were not available, Mangan said.
