Getting in the spirit…
The community is invited to come and share in the Christmas spirit through word, song and communion at Grace United Methodist Church in Manassas.
The church is having three Christmas Eve services and an additional special musical performance Dec. 24. The first service at 5 p.m. is geared to families and the young at heart and will feature a play as well as Christmas hymns.
At 8 p.m. and again at 11 p.m. there will be candlelight communion services. At 10:30 p.m. Geoffrey Haydon, from the piano faculty of Georgia State University in Atlanta, will perform piano and organ duets with the Rev. Milton Rodgers, minister of music at Grace.

The Center for the Arts’ Pied Piper Theatre, Manassas, will present the musical production, “Enchanted Sleeping Beauty” at Woodbridge Senior High School, 3101 Old Bridge Road, Woodbridge, at 7:30 p.m. Saturdays, Jan. 15 and 22, and at 3:30 p.m. Sundays on Jan. 16 and 23. Tickets are $7 in advance at ticket outlets and $8 at the door. Group rates are available.

Residents of Park Place Senior Apartments, 9659 Manassas Drive, Manassas Park, will conduct a “Trash and Treasure Sale” in the community room from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. There is a $2 charge per table and the public is invited to participate.
The new apartments opened in May and are 75 percent occupied.
St. Mark’s United Methodist Church at the corner of Centreville and Leland roads will host a Christmas Concert at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Also, a Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion Service will be conducted at 7 p.m.
Central Community Library, Manassas, hosts regular adult science fiction book discussions on the third Saturday of each month. This week the group will discuss “The Complete Fuzzy” by H. Beam Piper. Registration is not necessary and refreshments will be provided.
