Police nab robber near crime scene

Police arrested a 22-year-old man Monday at 1:30 p.m. as they investigated an armed robbery at the 7-Eleven store at 18750 Fuller Heights Road in Triangle, said Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman.

A 20-year-old man told police he was robbed while he was on the pay phone at the 7-Eleven. Someone came up behind him stuck what he believed to be a shotgun to the back of his neck and took his money, Mangan said.

The robber got into a green 1997 Pontiac Grand Am and drove away, the victim told police.

The Pontiac with Virginia tags, pulled back into the area while police were still at the scene and an officer stopped the car, Mangan said.

Police charged Michael Leroy Jefferson, 22, of no fixed address, with armed robbery, Mangan said.

Police did not find a gun. Jefferson was held without bond, Mangan said.

Police find marijuana and cocaine during stop

Prince William police found a 22-year-old Lorton man in possession of cocaine and marijuana after they stopped him for drinking a beer and driving in the 13900 block of Jefferson Davis Highway at 11:14 p.m. Tuesday, said Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman.

Robert Lee Ferguson III, of 9666 Hagle Circle, was charged with possession of marijuana and cocaine and held without bond, Mangan said.

Prince William police reported the following:

• A laptop, a scanner and a printer, worth $6,300, were stolen from Royal Hair, at 13526 Jefferson Davis Highway, between 8 p.m. Monday and 5 p.m. Tuesday. The front plate glass window was missing from the business after the burglary.

• Two watches, assorted jewelry, a PlayStation 2 and several Nintendo games, worth a total of $9,800, were stolen from a home in the 13900 Longwood Manor Court in Woodbridge between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.Tuesday. There was no sign of forced entry.

• A gold watch, two gold necklaces, a gold bracelet and a tennis bracelet, worth $4,100, were stolen from a home in the 7800 block of Woodbridge Drive, in the Broad Run area, between noon Sept. 6 and 2:53 p.m. Monday. There was no sign of forced entry.

• A garage door panel was pushed in during a burglary at the Midas Muffler shop at 2810 Metro Plaza in Woodbridge and $571 was stolen. The burglary occurred between 6:30 p.m. Monday and 7:10 a.m. Tuesday.
