Police investigate accident that killed Dumfries woman
A 71-year-old woman was killed when she pulled onto Centreville Road in a 1999 Mercury Sable at 4:54 p.m. Friday, Prince William police said Monday.
Joan Tuthill, of 183 Duke Street, was leaving a driveway at 7270 Centreville Road when she was struck by a 23-year-old Manassas woman driving down Centreville Road.
No charges have been filed and the accident is still under investigation, police said.
Two men rob supermarket in Woodbridge at gunpoint
Two men robbed a Woodbridge Food Lion of cash at 6:20 a.m. Saturday, Prince William police said Monday. Two men went into the 13414 Jefferson Davis Highway store and walked through the aisles several times before grabbing a carton of cigarettes.
They showed a gun to the 17-year-old clerk.
The robbers are described as black men between 25 and 35 years old. One is described as 6 feet 2 inches, weighing about 300 pounds. He had short hair and wore glasses. The other is described as 6 feet, weighing about 200 pounds. He was wearing a gold chain.
Man injured in hit-and-run in restaurant parking lot
A 20-year-old man was hit with a green Toyota Tacoma pickup when two men backed over him and drove away in the parking lot of La Luna Restaurant at 14520 Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge at 2:12 a.m. Saturday, Prince William police said Monday.
The men, described as white, between 22 and 25 years old, and 140 pounds, threw bottles on the victim and left, police said.
The victim was treated at Potomac Hospital.
