WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. ?–?The Potomac Cannons blew a four-run lead and lost for the second straight night to the Winston-Salem Warthogs, 8-5, on Sunday.

Potomac led 5-1 before the Warthogs (25-22) exploded for five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take a 6-5 lead. The Cannons (21-27), last place in the Carolina League Northern Division, are six and half games behind first-place Wilmington.

Winston-Salem’s Julio Castro pitched an inning and a third in relief of starter Kris Honel to raise his record to 3-1. The Warthogs drilled six doubles with first baseman Casey Rogowski notching a pair in a 2-for-4 effort.

Junior Ruiz had two RBI and William Bergolla collected three hits and scored twice for Potomac, which returns home Monday to face Frederick for a three-game set. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m.
