Prince William Police reported the following incidents:

— Two houses under construction at the end of Gunston Hall Road, near Forest Park high School, were burglarized between Oct. 16 and 8 a.m. Tuesday.

There was no sign of forced entry to one of the homes where a refrigerator, worth $833, was stolen.

At the second house, the door between the garage and main living area was crashed and a dishwasher and refrigerator worth $500 were stolen.

Shooting prompts school cancellations

Following Wednesday night’s fatal shooting of a 53-year-old man at a gas station just oustide Manassas city limits, Prince William County school officials decided to cancel all after-school and evening activities, sports or otherwise, until Monday at the earliest.
