Dale City woman finds man with ladder at window

A 78-year-old woman came face to face with a man trying to break into her home in the 12100 block of Cloverdale Road in Dale City on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., said Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman, Thursday.

Mangan said the woman heard a noise outside and went to her window to investigate.

The suspect is described as black or possibly dark Hispanic, and between the ages of 20 and 30. He was wearing a yellow and gray striped shirt and had a shaved head with some stubble.

He spoke with an accent, the woman told police.
