Driver points gun at another motorist after near-accident on parkway

A man pointed a handgun at another man on the Prince William Parkway in Woodbridge on Thursday morning, Prince William County police said Friday.

A 42-year-old man was heading east on the parkway when the assailant drove erratically in front of him, causing him to brake and swerve, police said.

The victim followed the driver in the red Ford pickup with a gray stripe to the corner of York Drive and Richmond Avenue to record his license plate number. He was about to get out of his car when the first driver pointed a black handgun at him and then took off, police said.

The victim described the man with the gun as white, between the ages of 35 and 45, with brown curly hair and a mustache, police said. The pickup had Virginia license plates.

Woman assaulted in home on Bentley Circle

Someone assaulted a 19-year-old woman while she was in her home in the 13500 block of Bentley Circle in Woodbridge.

The attacker scratched her face and kicked her in the stomach, police said.

He told her he was looking for a friend and left on foot, police said.

The assailant is described as black, between the ages of 19 and 20, 6 feet tall, with a medium build and braids, and was wearing a skull cap and a black T-shirt.

Suspicious man watches kids board bus, police say

Somebody crouched behind a building at the corner of Grand Park Road and Kilmer Lane just outside Dumfries while children boarded a school bus and then ran when a woman approached him Wednesday morning, Prince William County police said Friday.

It was not clear why the man was standing there, police said.

The man was described as Asian, between 33 and 36 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds and was wearing a blue and gray long-sleeve shirt and khaki pants.

Gas can thief chased by its owner on Seneca Court

The man who was stealing a gas can from a shed in the 5300 block of Seneca Court in Dale City dropped the can and ran when the owner tried to stop him Friday morning, said Prince William County police.

Police later found a brown 1979 Pontiac Bonneville with a half-full gas can sitting next to it.

The man is described as black, 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing 190 pounds and wearing blue jeans, a black shirt and white tennis shoes, police said.
