Police briefs for Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002
A 19-year-old man was arrested and charged with three counts of distribution of marijuana early Monday after the joint Prince William/Manassas/Manassas Park narcotics team seized smoking materials and residue from his apartment at 1279 Potomac Vista Drive, Apartment 302.
Sappy Frank Williams was held on a $25,000 bond.
Gun fired in Lake Ridge home early Sunday
A gun was fired and the bullet lodged in the ceiling of a home in the 12500 block of Kempston Lane in Lake Ridge on Sunday between 1 and 1:17 a.m., said Sgt. Kim Chinn, Prince William police spokeswoman, Monday.
Chinn said police have gotten several different stories about what actually happened. Investigation is still ongoing. No one was injured.
Boy assaulted Saturday during back yard party
A 16-year-old boy was assaulted Saturday between 10 p.m. and 12 a.m. during a back yard party, said Sgt. Kim Chinn, Prince William police spokeswoman, Monday.
Two 16-year-old boys from Lake Ridge and Woodbridge, respectively, assaulted the boy, who was released from an unknown hospital that night.
The boys were later released to their parents at the Gar-Field substation.
State law prohibits police from releasing the names of juveniles charged with crimes.
Man stabbed by girlfriend after an argument
A 28-year-old man was stabbed by his girlfriend following an argument at 13915 Longwood Manor Court in Woodbridge on Sunday at 1:15 a.m., said Sgt. Kim Chinn, Prince William police spokeswoman, Monday.
Chinn said police responded to an unknown hospital and later looked for Karen Yolanda Evans, 30, in her neighborhood.
She was charged with malicious wounding and held with no bond, Chinn said.
Man assaulted on Jeff Davis Highway
A 26-year-old man was assaulted Saturday at 9 p.m., in the 14500 block of Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge, said Sgt. Kim Chinn, Prince William police spokeswoman, Monday.
Gerome Evans, 45, of 1230 Easy Street in Woodbridge was charged with malicious wounding and held with no bond.
Chinn said he beat the victim with a stick.
Robbery victims flag down police early Saturday
Two robbery victims flagged police down Saturday at 2:21 a.m. in the 2900 block of Dale Boulevard in Dale City, said Sgt. Kim Chinn, Prince William police spokeswoman, Monday.
One victim, a 28-year-old man, was at the back of his car parked outside of a Shell station when a car pulled up. The occupants asked where they could buy drugs. The victim said he did not know, and the men demanded money and a cell phone at gunpoint.
The victim ran toward the front of the car. Chinn said the other vehicle pulled away, but first tried to ram the victim. The car was a red Ford Expedition with a black brush guard in front.
The first man is described as black, between 18 and 22 years old with braided hair.
The second is a black male, between 20 and 25 years old, wearing a blue shirt and red hat.
Two men harass man on Longview Drive
Two men walking in the 13900 block of Longview Drive in Woodbridge approached a 29-year-old man Sunday at 8:55 p.m., said Sgt. Kim Chinn, Prince William police spokeswoman, Monday.
They asked him for money and continued to follow him asking questions. They tried to grab a bag of food he was holding. He ran to a friends house to call police.
They are described as black males between 17 and 19 years old. One is 6 feet tall and had a red bandanna on his face. The other is 5 feet 9 inches tall and wore a black bandanna.
Sears mower stolen from Methodist church
A Sears riding mower was stolen from the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Dale City Saturday at 9:40 p.m., said Sgt. Kim Chinn, Prince William police spokeswoman, Monday.
The church is in the 13900 block of Birchdale Avenue.
