Cracker Barrel robbed last week; second robbery attempt Saturday fails

An armed robbery occurred at the Cracker Barrel restaurant at 10801 Battleview Parkway near Manassas on Wednesday night and another robbery was attempted Saturday night, Prince William police spokesman Dennis Mangan said.

A 20-year-old woman was standing behind the cash register about 10 p.m. Wednesday night when a man approached, lifted his shirt to reveal either a knife or gun, and demanded money.

He is described as white, in his 30s, heavy set and 6 feet tall. He was wearing a green zippered sweat shirt, a tan floppy hat and a tan backpack.

About 8:45 a.m. Saturday, a man entered the restaurant and tried to rob a 23-year-old woman working behind the counter. She paged the manager over the intercom and the man left.

He is described as white, 30 to 40 years old, 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet tall and 195 to 200 pounds. He wore a long, tan hooded coat, a plaid scarf and a golf hat and may have left the area in a green or tan Jeep Wrangler.

Woman robbed at gunpoint at First Virginia Bank

A 24-year-old woman was robbed at gunpoint as she made a deposit at First Virginia Bank at 16541 River Ridge Blvd. in Woodbridge about 12:30 a.m. Saturday, Prince William police spokesman Dennis Mangan said.

A police detective spotted the masked suspect running from the scene and a K-9 unit tried to track him through a wooded area but did not locate the man.

Woodbridge man charged with filing false report

A Woodbridge man was charged with filing a false police report after he told police he was robbed, then later said he gave a drug dealer money for marijuana but did not receive the drugs or his money back, according to Prince William police spokesman Dennis Mangan.

Asagai Uhuru Mitchell, 33, of 13732 Lynn St., filed the false report about 8 p.m. Monday in the 1900 block of Gable Ridge Turn.

He also was charged with possession of marijuana.

Girl reports suspicious driver on Labourn Drive

A 13-year-old girl reported to police that she saw a suspicious man sitting in a parked car on Labourn Drive in Dale City every day between April 1 and April 8.

One day, as she walked to the bus stop, the man asked if he could give her a ride.

He is described as black, 30 to 35 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall and 200 pounds. He drives a black, 4-door Nissan Altima with a green sticker.

Guitar, bag of clothes stolen from car inManassas

A six-string Gibson guitar, a brown leather bag full of clothes and blue Samsonite suitcase were stolen from an unlocked car between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Friday, Manassas police said.

The 1997 Pontiac Grand Am was parked in a lot in the 9000 block of Centreville Road.

The stolen items are valued at $1,650.

Electronics stolen from Cannon Bluff Road

A digital camera, DVD player and compact-disc burner valued at $1,300 were stolen from a house in the 5100 block of Cannon Bluff Road between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Prince William police spokesman Dennis Mangan said.
