20-year-old found dead in his Woodbridge apartment

A 20-year-old man died in his apartment in the 1920 block of Gable Ridge Run in Woodbridge between Friday at 4:30 a.m. and Saturday at 1:30 p.m., Sgt. Kim Chinn, Prince William police spokeswoman, said Monday.

Naji Abdeliah died of unknown causes, Chinn said. Police are awaiting a medical examiner’s report which sometimes takes weeks to complete, depending on toxicology screenings.

Abdeliah had a roommate, but Chinn is not sure if that person is the one who reported the death to police, she said.

A search warrant issued Saturday for Abdeliah’s apartment states police were looking for trace evidence including hairs, fibers, body fluids and latent fingerprints.

Police were also seeking both written and electronic documents, drugs, drug paraphernalia and “any other instrumentality of the crime of murder.”

Police found an empty bottle of the prescription drug oxycodone, written documents, rolling papers, a gun, gun magazine and a bullet, according to a search inventory on file at the Prince William County Circuit Court.
