Police Briefs for Thursday, March 27
Four Potomac High School students were arrested on drug charges Tuesday at 8:40 a.m., Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman, said Wednesday.
Administrators and school security personnel were involved in the bust, Mangan said. Detention orders were issued for all four boys; they will have to stay in jail until they go before a judge.
Two 15-year-olds from Woodbridge and a 16-year-old from Dumfries were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. A 17-year-old Woodbridge boy was charged with possession of marijuana.
Man sets off alarm, retreats into woods
A man ran off into the woods after breaking into a home and a shed in the 16700 block of Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge Monday between 11 a.m., and 1:37 p.m., Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman, said Wednesday.
K-9 units were called to the scene, but were not able to locate the man, who set off an alarm upon trying to break in to the home.
He is described as black, between 18 and 25 years old, 6 feet 1 inch, and 220 pounds. Police said he is muscular, and was wearing a dark blue or black sweatshirt.
Police suspect four men involved with tire theft
Police are looking for four men who they believe were involved in the theft of tires and wheels from a 2000 Honda Civic parked in the 13900 block of Longwood Manor Court in Woodbridge Tuesday at 2:53 a.m., Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman, said Wednesday.
Police located a 1999 Nissan Altima, and found the tires and wheels in the back, Mangan said.
A witness saw a black man, about 5 feet 11 inches and 150 pounds; a white man with a red shirt; a white man for whom no further description is available and another man.

The 7-Eleven store at 13360 Minnieville Road in Woodbridge was robbed of cash at gunpoint Wednesday at 12:08 a.m. The robber is Hispanic, between 25 and 35, about 5 feet 8 inches, and 160 pounds.
A man robbed a 43-year-old woman of an undisclosed amount of cash at the intersection of Bel Air Road and Mobile Lane in Woodbridge Wednesday at 2:14 a.m. The robber is white, between 25 and 30, about 5 feet 3 inches, and 120 pounds. He fled the area on foot.
Entry was not gained to a home during an attempted robbery in the 1900 block of Willow Lane in Woodbridge Monday between 9 a.m., and 4 p.m., Detective Dennis Mangan, Prince William police spokesman said, on Wednesday.
A rear basement door was partially kicked in, although no entry was gained at a home in the 14300 block of Sunnydale Drive in Dale City between Monday at 8 a.m., and Tuesday at 8 a.m.
A front fender and bumper were stolen off of a 1990 Honda between Monday at 9 p.m., and Tuesday at 6:25 a.m., in the 13700 block of Lynn Street in Woodbridge. A stereo was also stolen, and a rear driver’s side window was broken out. Total damage and estimated value of the missing items is $1,400.
A front bumper, turn signals, and fog lights valued at a total of $524 were stolen from a 1991 Acura parked in the 4300 block of Wabash Place in Dale City on Tuesday between 2 and 5 a.m.
CDs and a CD player were stolen from a 1987 Chevrolet parked in the 13900 block of the Jefferson Davis Highway at Marumsco Plaza in Woodbridge Tuesday between 8 and 11 p.m.
Jewelry boxes, two DVD players, rifles, shotguns and a combination of the two, in addition to clothes, were stolen from a home in the 1900 block of Willow Lane Tuesday between 8:30 a.m., and 4 p.m. Witnesses told police they saw two young black men standing at the home around 11 a.m. One of them is described as 16, skinny, with a short Afro, and long face.
Manassas police reported the following:
Auto repair tools valued at $200 were stolen from a shed in the 8900 block of Sudley Road in Manassas Tuesday between 6:30 a.m., and 4:50 p.m.
A Honda GX390 power washer with a 25-foot long gray hose was stolen from a car port at a home in the 9000 block of Sudley Road in Manassas.
The passenger side window of an excavation tractor was broken out at the intersection of Digital and Manassas drives in Manassas Park, between Sunday at 11:30 p.m., and Monday at 7 a.m.
