A 20-year-old Manassas man was killed in a car accident Sunday morning after he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree, a Manassas City police spokesman said.
Ryan Early of the 9600 block of Peony Court was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash around 5:40 a.m. in the Battery Heights section of Manassas, said Lt. Bill Goodman, department spokesman.
Early was traveling east on Signal Hill Road and lost control of his 1992 Honda near Nittany Drive. His car crossed into the westbound lanes and hit a tree on the side of the road, police said.
The accident is under investigation to determine the cause of the crash. Police did say that alcohol was not involved, but early morning fog may have been a factor.
Early was not wearing a seat belt, police said.
