Manassas Journal Messenger | Manassas man performs on ‘American Idol’
Travis Tucker of Manassas competed Monday in the first live round of “American Idol” singing “My Cherie Amour” by Stevie Wonder.
Judges said he is “magical,” but that it was not a good song choice.
Tucker, a 2001 graduate of Osbourn Park High School, is one of 24 contestants remaining after more than 100,000 people auditioned for the show. Viewers vote singers off after each performance to name America’s next pop star.
At OP, Tucker starred in school plays, was an All-State choral student and was a standout soccer player. He went to New York University to play soccer and major in drama but transferred to the University of Virginia where he is finishing an education degree.
Watch for live results of Tucker’s performance at 9 p.m. Wednesday on FOX.
